About Hannah Collentine-Cole
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, She/Her
My name is Hannah and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I provide psychotherapy to individuals and couples living in California. I work with clients throughout California via telehealth and offer in-person services at my office located in Midtown Sacramento.
Professional Background
In 2015, I earned my Masters in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley. Following graduation, I worked with children and families as a school social worker and coordinated mental health programming in schools throughout Sacramento. I approached this work through a social justice lens, and trained educators in Restorative Practices, Trauma Informed Care, Social-Emotional Learning and Suicide Prevention.
In 2021, shortly after having my first child, I took a leap of faith and opened my private practice. This transition has allowed me to create a therapy practice I am deeply passionate about- drawing on my personal, professional, and educational experiences to support individuals and couples navigating life transitions, parenthood, anxiety, burnout, and/or creating healthy boundaries.
Approach to Therapy
I firmly believe that each individual has inherent strengths, resources, and the capacity for healing. These values inform everything I do as a therapist. My approach to therapy is warm, relational, and trauma-informed.
My work is strengths-based and draws on Attachment Theory. Since opening my private practice, I have received additional training in Perinatal Mental Health, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety and OCD, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I am currently participating in training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I strive to maintain a social justice lens and systems-focused approach to this work. This means, I engage in continued learning around social issues and culturally responsive care, and work with clients to explore their intersectional identities. I strive to maintain a welcoming environment to clients of all backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

Outside of Work
I was born and raised in Sacramento and have lived in Northern California, with stints in Santa Cruz and Oakland, throughout my life. In addition to being a therapist, I hold many identities. To name a few, I am a mom, a partner, and a bookworm. Outside of work, you will probably find me on a walk with my kids, spending time with close friends and family, or curled up with a book. I love to dance, go on hikes, drink coffee, share meals with my loved ones, watch bad reality TV, and play the daily NYT Puzzles.
As a therapist, I strive to…
Build therapeutic relationships that are transparent, accountable, and healing.
Engage in collaborative problem solving with clients. I do not hold the answers. This is a partnership. I help clients explore their own strengths, build on solutions that have worked in the past, and come up with their own answers.
Maintain a social justice perspective and participate in continued learning to unpack my own unconscious biases. Consider how systemic factors impact my client’s resources, wellbeing, and experiences.
Practice unconditional positive regard. I will honor the client, reflect back their inherent strengths, and demonstrate respect by providing honest feedback.
Maintain a non-judgmental space.
Help clients reframe their experiences to develop self-narratives that are kind, honest and helpful.
Pull from various modalities to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Share resources with clients, including opportunities for mindfulness, physical activity, and community engagement.
